Alex Brown has been involved in local and Welsh tennis for over 25 years both as a player and a committee member of Usk Tennis Club. He served as Chairman of Usk Tennis Club for 18 years leading an enthusiastic committee through a large expansion of its facilities and membership leading to the achievement of Tennis Wales Club of the year in 2006. Alex was the lead in securing Tennis Clubmark at Usk in 2010 and establishing it as a Tennis Wales exemplar club, he was also voted Tennis Wales Volunteer of The Year in 2010.
In professional life Alex is a Director of Glen-Yr-Afon Holdings Limited which owns both The Glen-Yr-Afon House Hotel and its sister hotel The Three Salmons in Usk. He is a hands on business operator with 28 years experience in all areas of the hospitality industry.
