Barry Cawte is an award winning leisure and sports executive with 20 years experience in the industry. Barry who resides in Newport, is well recognised for his leadership of social enterprise Tennis Swansea 365 which propelled Swansea Tennis Centre to the forefront of best practise for community indoor centres. His ability to transform underperforming business and sustainable participation was quickly recognised by the Lawn Tennis Association and the Tennis Foundation and Barry was recruited as a consultant to work along side a number of key tennis venues to transform their performance. For a number of years Barry has been a regular speaker on the business of tennis and has presented at a number of national LTA, TIA, TF and coach education conferences and workshops for a number of years.
Barry was then recruited by Greenwich Leisure LTD the largest leisure and sport social enterprise in the Uk where he remains their National Tennis Manager. Under Barry's strategic direction he has guided GLL in becoming the largest public provider of tennis in the UK delivering massive growth in tennis participation right across the United Kingdom.
When not dedicating his free time to Tennis Wales, Barry likes to spent time with his wife and four boys.
Barry took up the position of Tennis Wales Chair in April 2018.
