  •  What is your background?  I started my career at Marriott International as an apprentice when I was 17. I decided to take a gap year before going to Uni to study law & economics. I enjoyed myself so much working for Marriott that I never made it to University! I joined the LTA in London, before managing tennis projects & investments across the South, South West, Midlands & Channel Islands over ten years and then joined Tennis Wales as CEO.
  • What do you like most about working at Tennis Wales?  The range of venues and partners we have is incredible. One moment you’re in the hustle and bustle of Cardiff with large venues and so much going on, and the next you’re in rural Wales with small local facilities and some brilliant volunteers and coaches. The array of opportunities is endless and I see so much potential for us to grow.
  • What are your hobbies?  I still play tennis regularly, dabble in golf but keep trying new things. My latest was pottery, but I decided it took way too long to make one plate so went to Ikea instead. I’m also a member of the Institute for Apprenticeships in London, supporting the roll out of new apprentice standards across the UK as a route panel member with other executives from various exciting industries.
  • Any final thoughts? Only that if anyone has any fun new sport or activity I haven’t tried, please get in touch! I’m determined to make the most of living in Wales with climbing, hiking, kayaking and whatever else is on offer… drop me an email if you’ve got something in mind.
