Last year’s finalist Dan Evans has been awarded a main draw wild card for the Nature Valley Open in Nottingham, which takes place at the Nottingham Tennis Centre from 8-16 June 2019.
The 29-year-old, currently ranked No.80 in the world having risen more than 1,000 places over the past 12 months, joins fellow British players Jay Clarke and James Ward, as well as former Top 20 players Bernard Tomic and Marcos Baghdatis in the main draw of the LTA summer grass court event.
Evans had a successful run to to the final last year before losing to Australia's rising star Alex de Minaur. The British No.3 has enjoyed a strong season so far in 2019, successfully qualifying for the main draw of the Australian Open and reaching his second career ATP Tour final whilst playing at the Delay Beach Open. With his ranking up to world No.80, he received direct entry into the French Open.
The ATP Challenger in Nottingham runs alongside the women’s WTA International tournament and features last year’s champion and world No.8 Ash Barty, and British No.1 Johanna Konta.
