Emily Arbuthnott stormed back from a set down to take her place in the third round of the French Open Girls’ tournament.
Arbuthnott went on a run of winning 12 games out of 13 after losing the first set 6-4 to Argentine No.15 seed Julieta Lara Estable.
After powering to a 4-6, 6-0, 6-1 win, Arbuthnott, 17, faces junior world No.1 Marketa Vondrousova for a place in the quarter-finals.
There was mixed success for Maia Lumsden and Katie Swan who were in doubles action at Roland Garros.
Swan and her American partner Sofia Kenin overcame the French duo of Emmanuelle Girard and Lea Romain 6-2, 6-2 but Lumsden and Anastasia Gasanova were knocked out 7-5, 6-4 by No.7 seeds Pranjala Yadlapalli and Wushuang Zheng.
On court on Wednesday
Alongside the juniors, Andy Murray is back in action on Suzanne Lenglen on Wednesday when he takes on Spaniard David Ferrer in the men’s quarter-finals.
Murray has never beaten Ferrer on clay in four occasions, including a four-set defeat at the same stage in 2012, but is currently on a 14 match winning streak on the surface.
