Johanna Konta has continued her fantastic form to make it 13 singles wins in a row and qualify for the main draw of the US Open.

The No.3 seed had to recover from a break down in the final set against Austrian Tamira Paszek before recording the fine 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory over the former world No.26.

British No.2, Konta, now ranked inside the world’s top 100, will be playing in her third Grand Slam main draw of the year after also qualifying for the French Open and taking to the courts at Wimbledon.

Kyle EdmundKonta was one of four Brits in action in the final round of qualifying but the only one to progress to the main draw after Kyle Edmund, Naomi Broady and Brydan Klein suffered defeats.

World No.99 Edmund was agonisingly close to making it seven Brits in the main draw, having match points against talented Japanese player Yoshihito Nishioka, before losing five games in a row in the third set to go down 2-6, 6-0, 5-7.

Earlier on Broady and Klein lost out against Anett Kontaveit and Matthew Ebden respectively having come through two previous matches to reach the final stage.

The US Open at Flushing Meadows gets underway on Monday with Konta joining Andy Murray, Aljaz Bedene, James Ward, Heather Watson and Laura Robson in action.
