British Tennis Membership Wimbledon Ballot Rules 2019

The following ballot rules must be adhered to by all British Tennis Members across any British Tennis Membership or venue ballot or ticket offer administered by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

Tickets remain the property of The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) at all times and the LTA retains overall responsibility for all tickets.

Any decision made by the LTA regarding tickets and the ballot rules is final.

To participate in one of the 2019 British Tennis Membership Wimbledon Ballots included in these ballot rules (either the British Tennis Membership Venue Ballot or the British Tennis Membership Ballot) you must be a British Tennis Member and make yourself eligible by holding one of the following membership types:  

  • Team Members registered directly with the LTA will only enter the British Tennis Membership Ballot.
  • Lite or Team Members linked via an LTA Registered Venue(s) will only enter the British Tennis Membership Venue Ballot.

The British Tennis Membership Venue ballot is for Lite or Team Members linked to LTA registered venue(s) only.

Eligibility/Opt In

A British Tennis Member is eligible for the British Tennis Membership Venue Ballot of their LTA registered venue(s) (Registered Venues) if they meet the following criteria by 22 February 2019. A British Tennis Member must:  

  • Have an Adult (18+) or Junior (11-17) active British Tennis Lite or Team Membership;
  • Ensure that the relevant Registered Venue(s) is/are linked to their British Tennis Membership; and
  • Be Opted In to the British Tennis Membership Venue Ballot, with the LTA.

You must ensure that you are a current member at your Registered Venue(s) when you Opt In and at the date that the venue’s ballot is held. Your registered Venue(s) are permitted to remove their link to your British Tennis Membership record if you are no longer a member there, thereby making you ineligible for their ballot.

Only the registered British Tennis Member, or their parent/legal guardian is permitted to opt themselves in to the British Tennis Membership Venue Ballot.

You can check your membership status and link your Registered Venue(s) to your membership by logging into your account on the LTA website.

Multiple Registered Venues

If you are a member of more than one venue, once you have Opted In you are permitted to enter the ballot at each venue.You may be successful and receive the opportunity to purchase a pair of tickets in each venue ballot.

You must ensure that your British Tennis Membership is linked to each venue of which you are a member. Once Opted In this will count for all Registered Venues linked to your membership.

A British Tennis Member whose membership is linked to an LTA registered venue may only be assigned one pair of tickets from each of their venues in the British Tennis Membership Venue Ballot.

The British Tennis Membership Ballot is for Team Members not linked to an LTA registered venue only!

Eligibility/Opt In

If you are not a member of an LTA Registered Venue you will be included in the British Tennis Membership Ballot. This ballot is exclusive for British Tennis Team Members, whose membership is not linked to an LTA registered venue, providing that you meet the below criteria by 22 February 2019:

  • You are an Adult (18+) or Junior (11-17) active British Tennis Team Member; and
  • You are Opted In to the British Tennis Membership Ballot, with the LTA.

Only the registered British Tennis Member, or their parent/legal guardian is permitted to opt themselves in to the British Tennis Membership Ballot.

Child Members

Child British Tennis Members (0-10 years) are not permitted to enter the ballot.

Junior Members

Anyone who holds Junior British Tennis Membership (11-17) and meets the eligibility criteria set out above is eligible to be entered into a British Tennis Members Ballot. Any successful Junior British Tennis Member under the age of 16 must attend The Championships with an adult and be supervised appropriately.

Tickets

Once tickets have been purchased by a British Tennis Member they cannot be transferred. This includes selling or giving tickets to friends, family or other members. The tickets must be used by the British Tennis Member ballot winner and a guest only (the guest does not need to be a British Tennis Member). Any ticket advertised or offered for sale whether by the applicant or any third party will be void.

Please note that any individual who advertises, transfers, offers for sale or sells tickets (not in accordance with the AELTC’s conditions of sale) may not be permitted to apply for or receive tickets from the AELTC or its authorised agents (including, but not limited to, the LTA and Ticketmaster) for a period of up to 5 full Championships from the date of such breach.

Refunds

In the event that a member has purchased tickets and does not wish to or is unable to use any tickets issued to them they must notify and return the tickets as a pair, for a refund to the LTA. Whilst the LTA will normally accept and refund the price of such tickets (provided that the tickets are returned to the LTA at least 24 hours before the date for which such tickets are valid), the LTA shall not be bound to do so.
