Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares in action at the 2017 Nitto ATP Finals

In their opening match at the 2017 Nitto ATP Finals, Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares fell 7-5, 6-7(3), [10-8] in an exciting battle against Bob and Mike Bryan.

After losing the first set at London's O2 Arena, the Brit and Brazillian found themselves 4-1 down in the second, but fought back to level the match and force a championship tiebreak.

The brothers got off to a strong start and raced to a 9-5 lead, but Murray and Soares remained resilient and saved three match points. However, the American fifth seeds struck on their fourth opportunity to claim the tiebreaker 10-8.

Despite their defeat, Murray and Soares' ATP Finals hopes remain alive as they now prepare for their remaining two round-robin matches. They will return to action on Wednesday and Friday to face top seeds Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo and seventh seeds Ivan Dodig and Marcel Granollers. Follow all the action with the ATP World Tour.
