Gabriella Taylor and Katie Boulter have been awarded wild cards to join the field at the Fuzion 100 Southsea Trophy, taking place from June 26-29 at Canoe Lake Leisure, Southsea.

Southampton’s Gabriella Taylor has enjoyed a breakthrough year already in 2018, winning three ITF Pro Circuit events in Australia, the $25,000 Launceston in early February, the $25,000 Perth in late February and the $25,000 Mildura in March and achieving a career-high ranking of 171 in May.  Having reached the quarterfinal at the recent Fuzion 100 Surbiton Trophy the local girl has proved she is in good form on grass.

Leicestershire’s Katie Boulter has climbed to a career-high ranking of 139 courtesy of two recent quarter final appearances at the Fuzion 100 Surbiton Trophy and the Nature Valley Open, Nottingham.

The British pair join an high-quality international field comprised of all top 100 players headed by Croatia’s Petra Martic, ranked world No.35.  Also featuring are Wimbledon Ladies Doubles runner-up Monica Niculescu from Romania and 2018 Fuzion 100 Surbiton Trophy Champion Alison Riske from the USA.

The 16 main draw and 8 doubles draw ITF Pro Circuit $100k + Hospitality event is played over four days on the fabulous grass courts of Canoe Lake Leisure, on the beachfront in Southsea and is a key warm-up event ahead of The Championships, Wimbledon which starts on Monday 2 July.

Julie Piper, Tournament Director, said: “We are delighted to welcome such a high quality field to the Fuzion 100 Southsea Trophy. The event goes from strength to strength each year and we are looking forward to some fantastic matches on the seafront in Southsea.”
