British duo Jonny O'Mara and Scott Clayton thrilled the weekend crowd at the Scotstoun Leisure Centre with a decisive victory over David Guez and Yannick Mertens. The top seeds secured their place in Sunday's final with a 6-3, 6-2 win.

The British pairing have been playing together since 2015 and showed they are in great form with an impressive display in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.

Following the match, O'Mara said: "That was a great performance, we picked up where we left off in the quarter-finals and the crowd out there were fantastic, barely any empty seats and making lots of noise.  I find it very difficult not to play well and enjoy those scenarios, so unbelievable match and really enjoyed it."

Clayton added: "We've heard it's nearly a sell-out tomorrow which is great, today was fantastic having the home crowd behind us and they were really vocal which was nice, so hopefully more of the same tomorrow and the same result."

The pair face Spaniards Gerard Granollers and Guillermo Olaso in Sunday's final, which will take place ahead of the singles final.

Earlier in the day, Italy’s Luca Vanni made it through to the final of the ATP Challenger tournament, scoring a 6-2, 6-2 upset over fellow Italian and fourth seed Matteo Valeo. He will meet top seed Lukas Lacko who continued in dominant form to defeat third seed David Guez 6-3 6-3.
