Feliciano Lopez, Alison Riske, Marcos Baghdatis and Heather Watson are just a few of the world class names confirmed for the Surbiton Trophy from 3 - 9 June.
The opener to the grass court season, the Surbiton Trophy has once again drawn a stellar field to the ATP Challenger and ITF World Tennis Tour events taking place at the Surbiton Racket & Fitness Club.
Former winner of the Fever-Tree Championships at The Queen's Club Feliciano Lopez joins former Wimbledon semi-finalist and Australian Open runner-up Marcos Baghdatis in the ATP Challenger event which includes ten players ranked within the top 100. Defending champion Alison Riske and Britain’s in-form Heather Watson are highlights in the ITF World Tennis Tour main draw which counts twelve top 100 players.
Taking place simultaneously on seven courts at the Surbiton Racket & Fitness Club the two events make up the Surbiton Trophy, an event that has a rich tradition of grass court tennis.
In 2018 former Wimbledon Champion Lleyton Hewitt and ATP World Tour star Nick Kyrgios both played in the men's doubles event with the singles events being won by Alison Riske, who has a career high ranking of 36 and Jeremy Chardy, who has reached 25 on the ATP World Tour.
British talent on display this year will include Jay Clarke, Dan Evans and James Ward, all main draw acceptances on the men’s side and Watson, in the women’s main draw with Fed Cup team mate Harriet Dart in the qualifying draw.
With wildcards to be added to the player lists there is also always the possibility of a big name surprise or two and as well as the main men's and women's events there will be lots of activities on site for young tennis fans with over 1600 children from local schools attending throughout the week.
LTA Tournament Director George Donnelly said:
“We are delighted to have attracted such a high-quality field once again to the Surbiton Trophy. As the first event of the grass court season it is always exciting to welcome the players and watch them start their preparation for The Championships, Wimbledon. This is a great family-friendly event that epitomises the LTA vision of Tennis Opened Up, providing an enjoyable day out for anyone who wants to come along and experience the thrill of live tennis.”

What happened last year?
Jeremy Chardy battled past Alex De Minaur and Alison Riske overcame Conny Perrin to be crowned 2018 Surbiton Trophy champions.
French top seed Chardy has been in fine form all week, but he faced a tough battle against Australian 19-year-old De Minaur, eventually prevailing 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 after one hour 39 minutes.
American second seed Riske defeated Switzerland's Perrin 6-2, 6-4 to lift the trophy in the women’s ITF Pro Circuit event. The world No.83 didn’t drop a set on her way to the title in what was her first appearance at Surbiton.
Riske secured a double break to claim the opening set and then survived a comeback in the second as her Swiss opponent battled back from 5-1 to 5-4. Nevertheless, she remained resilient to claim victory and was presented with the trophy by Australia's Judy Dalton - an eight-time Grand Slam doubles champion and 1968 Surbiton winner.
