Team Tennis is a singles based team competition open for all LTA Registered Venues. It aims to provide players of all ages (8&U – Open) with regular league matches, against similar standard players in a competitive team environment. A total of 5,473 teams from over 1,169 venues played in Team Tennis 2018. It was also been a record season in terms of the number of venues entered into the competition. A total of 26,424 players also competed in 2018- the highest participation number on record in Team Tennis.

All Open (adult) teams are part of a promotion & relegation structure whereby successful teams can earn promotion between county, regional and national tiers.
The majority of the 1,000+ Open (adult) teams play in the county tier where over 5,000 teams are involved. All teams in the county tier compete in leagues within their county boundary with the aim of becoming league champions.
The National/Regional Open tier of Team Tennis features many aspiring, current and former professional players.

Premier 12&U-18&U competition

The Premier 12U-18U tier provides the opportunity for teams to compete outside of their county on a regional and national level. This allows stronger players and teams to play in a more appropriate league. Teams are accepted to the Premier 12U-18U events based on the ratings of nominated players at entry stage. There are 3 age groups: 12U, 14U and 18U.
Applications for the 2019 season opens on 1 December 2018 and closes 23.59 pm on 23 January 2019. Acceptances are confirmed on 4 February. Draws sent out by 15 February 2019 with league fixtures taking place in April, May and June.

The LTA Competitions Team launched the Venue Commitment Award to recognise venues who demonstrate the very best levels of commitment and organisation throughout the league season.
The award will once again be issued at the end of 2019 season. Each league organiser will submit one or more venues in their league who demonstrate excellent standards of communication, organisation and commitment. Succesful venues will be informed in August where they will receive a plaque to display at their venue. View the criteria for the Venue Commitment Award.
