Congratulations on being shortlisted for a place at one of the National Academies!
You are among a select few in the country who we believe are ready to be considered for a place on one of these new and exciting programmes, and have the potential to thrive in a world-class pro-style training environment. You should be proud of your achievements to date and for reaching this stage of the National Academy selection process.
As a player at a National Academy you will be embedded in an environment that is designed to help you develop your game both on and off the court. There are two National Academies opening in the Autumn term 2019: the Loughborough University National Tennis Academy and the GB National Tennis Academy at the University of Stirling. Both Academies will provide a full-time residential training environment with world-class coaching and a bespoke competition and tennis programme. The programme will be tailored to the individual, with support provided for continued development as a person, a player, and a performer. In addition sports science and sports medicine provision will be fully included and the programme will run alongside first class mainstream education. While a few years away, we hope that you will graduate into our Pro Scholarship Programme and hopefully, into the elite ranks of the pro tour in the not-so-distant future.
At this stage every shortlisted player will need to apply for a place at a National Academy. All the information you need can be found below and the next steps are as follows:
1. Book a place on the National Academy Open Days taking place in March
2. Complete and submit your application online by March 24
3. Are you in? Selection decisions will be communicated in early April
