Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends 2019

Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends is an initiative to help tennis venues attract new people from the local community to come and try out your venue at fun and welcoming open days.

We coordinate a country-wide marketing campaign to raise awareness of the Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends, particularly encouraging families to try tennis for free. This alongside free marketing materials to help your club promote the open day locally can significantly help you to raise awareness of your tennis club in the wider community.

Each year over a thousand venues sign-up to run Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends with over 55,000 people coming along to experience their local tennis club; but most importantly 44% of these attendees decide to join the club and play tennis more regularly following their experience. As a result, many venues run more than one Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends event each year to capitalise on the positive impact they have in attracting new members and new players onto the coaching programme.

Dates and sign-up

Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends open days can take place at any point throughout the year from May onwards, and venues can run as many open days as they wish (the more the better!). Venues with outdoor courts typically have the most success in running their Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends open days during the spring and summer months, but for venues with indoor courts there is no need to be limited to just this period!

The national Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends are the 18 & 19 May, the 20 & 21 July and 28 & 29 September 2019. These are the dates that we will focus most of our marketing and promotional support and therefore encourage venues to consider holding their open days on these dates to maximise the impact of the national campaign. 

You can sign-up online from the 12 March 2019 by following these simple steps:

1. Go to the ClubSpark website
2. Login to your ClubSpark account or register if you don't have one
3. Click Admin and go through to the Events Module
4. Click Create new and select Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends from the types of events

Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends Resource Packs

As a Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends venue, you will receive a free promotional resource pack to help you plan, promote and run your event. This resource pack will include: 

• 5 x branded volunteer T-shirts
• 1 x personalised banner
• 500 x personalised postcards
• 20 x personalised A4 posters
• And other resources to help run a fun open day!

The banner, postcards and posters will be personalised based upon the information provided during the ClubSpark Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends sign-up process.

Each venue will receive one full Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends resource pack for the first open day published and a further top-up resource pack (which does not include the T-shirts) for each subsequent published event.

Receiving your Resource Pack

It is important to note that there are fixed dates when we distribute the Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends resource packs, and it is therefore essential that you publish your open day on ClubSpark by the respective deadline dates to ensure that you receive your resource pack ahead of your event. The table below outlines the timeframes for when you need to register and publish your Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends open day on ClubSpark and the date you can expect to receive your pack.

You will not be sent a resource pack if you registered your open day too late to receive your pack in time for your event. 

*Date you register & publish your event on ClubSpark, not the date of your open day.

Example: Venue X is planning to hold a NVBTW Open Day on Saturday 20 July 2019 to correspond with one of the NVBTW national promotional dates that the LTA stages.

In order for Venue X to receive their resource pack in time, the latest date that they could publish their event on ClubSpark is the 30 June 2019. The pack would be delivered in the June Delivery Window and Venue X would receive the pack by no later than the 15 July 2019.

If Venue X wished to have more time to use their promotional resources ahead of their open day, they could publish their event on ClubSpark earlier in the year to correspond with one of the earlier Delivery Windows. However, if Venue X published their event on 1 July 2019 they would miss the July Delivery Window and would therefore not receive a resource pack ahead of their event on the 20 July.
