With just two days to go before main draw action kicks off at the Nature Valley International, some of the world's biggest tennis stars took to the practice courts at Devonshire Park to prepare for the combined WTA Premier and ATP 250 grass court tournament.

The women's line-up features the likes of defending champion Caroline Wozniacki, reigning Wimbledon winner Angelique Kerber, world No.2 and 2019 French Open champion Ashleigh Barty, 2017 US Open winner Sloane Stephens, former world No.1 and 2018 French Open winner Simona Halep, and British No.1 Johanna Konta. Wild cards have also been awarded to British trio and Fed Cup teammates Heather Watson, Harriet Dart and Katie Swan.

In the men's tournament, 2018 Australian Open semi-finalist Kyle Edmund will play as the third seed and will be joined by fellow Brits Cam Norrie, Dan Evans and Jay Clarke. Fernando Verdasco, Marco Cecchinato, Gilles Simon and Richard Gasquet are also in the mix, setting the scene for a jam-packed week of competitive grass court action.

In doubles news, three-time singles Grand Slam champion Andy Murray will return to the tournament after accepting a wild card into the doubles draw with Marcelo Melo from Brazil.

In qualifying action, 2011 US Open champion Samantha Stosur reached the deciding round on a tough day for British wild cards Freya Christie and Alicia Barnett.

Stosur beat the fourth seed in qualifying, Iga Swiatek, 6-0, 6-3, and will face seventh seed Magda Linette, a 7-6(3), 6-1 winner over Urszula Radwanska, for a place in the main draw in Eastbourne.

Stosur said: "It’s always a great event here. Even the first day of qualies the stands are full. Everyone likes their tennis down here so there’s always a good atmosphere. There’s so much space for the fans to get around and see and being the grass court event they can be right up close to the court and feel part of it.”

Elsewhere, qualifying top seed Dayana Yastremska beat wild card Freya Christie 6-0, 7-6, and qualifying 12th seed Zarina Diyas beat wild card Alicia Barnett 6-1, 6-1.
