Regional Player Development Centres

What's the purpose of this programme?

  • Regional Player Development Centres (RPDCs) will provide high-quality coaching environments which enable the best players to train regularly with each other
  • They will nurture the best young players to establish a robust all court-game and prepare to successfully begin playing some national and international competitions

Who's it for?

This programme is for the best juniors aged 10 – 14 who are selected for Regional Training and the U12 and / or U14 National Age Group Programme.

Players at this level should be aspiring to achieve National Academy selection at age 14.

What will this programme be like?

  • RPDCs will provide high quality coaching support, alongside aspiring peers, to help nurture player development
  • Age and stage specific tournament schedules are included, as well as coach attendance at identified domestic events
  • Programmes include complimentary strength and conditioning support to maximise athletic development
  • In partnership with the operator, the LTA will subsidise individual programmes for players on the pathway

Players selected for Regional Training and / or the U14 National Age Group Programme will be eligible for a subsidy. However any keen young player can approach an RPDC to explore what training opportunities may be available for them.
