Johanna Konta fought her way into the quarter-finals of Wimbledon by brilliantly battling past two-time champion and sixth seed Petra Kvitova 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

The result meant the British No.1 has now won 13 out of the 15 three-setters she's playerd in 2019, and edged her into the SW19 quarter-finals for the second time in her career.

19th seed Konta will face world No.54 Barbora Strycova second on Centre Court on Tuesday for the chance to secure a spot in the semis, and match her career-best at Wimbledon following her run to the final-four in 2017.

In doubles, 12th seeds Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram are on the brink of reaching the quarter-finals currently tied at 5-5 in the deciding set. After eighth seeds Henri Kontinen and John Peers won the first two sets, Salisbury and Ram dug deep to claim the next two and force a decider but at 6-7(2), 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 5-5, the match was suspended due to bad light.

Jamie Murray and Bethanie Mattek-Sands' second-round clash will also need to be resumed on Tuesday after play was suspended in the deciding third set. Third seeds Mate Pavic and Gabriela Dabrowski claimed the opening set 6-4, but 2018 US Open champions Murray and Mattek-Sands fought back to take the second 6-3. At 3-4 down but on serve in the third, they will get back to business on Tuesday.

There were also nine British junior players in action, with two advancing to the second round of the boys' and girls' singles draws. Anton Matusevich defeated 15th seed Gauthier Onclin 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 and Matilda Mutavdzic scored a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win against seventh seed Sada Nahimana.
